INDIAN NATIONAL HYDROPOWER ASSOCIATION
INTRODUCTION

Indian National Hydropower Association (INHA), was established in June 2003, to provide a forum for the exchange of views and enhancement of knowledge on various aspects relating to hydropower in India, advocating the interests and representing the views of hydropower fraternity before all concerned agencies, and seeking to influence energy and environment policy of Government and profess the merits of implementing hydro policy in India.

INHA is an Affiliate Member of International Hydropower Association (IHA), thereby providing an opportunity to remain in touch with the international hydropower development and take advantage of the developments and best practices.

The hydropower sector in the country is currently witnessing numerous challenges on various fronts. Some of the major issues hindering the hydropower development are land acquisition, environmental & forest clearances, financing of hydro projects, law and order, R&R, etc. It is extremely important to address various issues impacting the sector to infuse impetus to the hydro development in the country and INHA can definitely provide a right platform for addressal of wide ranging issues.

VISION
 • To become the representative voice of Indian hydro Sector across the National and International Spectrum for promotion of its sustainable development.
